House Runes

Runes have meanings.
Egil’s Saga explicitely warns us: to know their meanings well.
It only stand to reason then that the meanings of runes are not interchangeable and that it most certainly is not “all about intent”.
Intent is only the beginning of a magical practice or operation. It needs to be supported by knowledge and discipline. Just as when building a house: you need knowledge and discipline for it to be built and be built safely. We can not just “intend” a house to appear out of nothing.
When looking at houses, we can sometimes see runes in them, this is especially true for houses in Scandinavia, Northern and Western Europe and even the UK. We see it in their shapes and supporting structures.
Steven Flowers has also touched upon this is in his Handbook of Rune Magick.
And in this article I will share what I know about which runes can be observed in houses and which runes are good choices to decorate the in- or outside of your house with. And which ones are likely to invite otherworldly attention and which ones are likely to attract undesirable effects that run counter to the purpose of a house(hold).
